FiFis to Honor Halle Berry, Fergie, Jean Paul Gaultier

The Fragrance Foundation announced it will host several celebrities as its FiFi Awards Celebration this year, happening May 25 at Lincoln Center. Among those in attendance will be Halle Berry and Stacy Ferguson, aka Fergie, being honored for their respective fragrances and industry contributions, as well as Jean Paul Gaultier, who will be recognized with the 2011 FiFi Hall of Fame Award.

Berry will receive the 2011 FiFi Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award for her work promoting the world of fragrance over a long period of time, as well as in recognition of her scents Halle by Halle Berry and Pure Orchid. “I am very honored to receive this FiFi award, “ she said. “I truly believe that fragrance makes women feel beautiful and confident.”

Fergie will receive the 2011 FiFi New Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award for her new scent, Outspoken by Fergie, with the pop star stating, “It feels unbelievable for me to have the biggest launch in Avon’s history. I’m so excited to be receiving the FiFi New Fragrance Celebrity of the Year award, and it feels amazing to be honored by the industry.”

Among Gaultier’s notable contributions to the fragrance industry are Classique Eau de Toilette, Classique Eau de Parfum, Le Male Eau de Toilette, Fragile, Gaultier2, Fleur du Male, Ma Dame and Classique X. He states his fragrance credo as, “Masculine, feminine. Couture corset for her; striped sailor shirt for him. Multiple faces are juxtaposed. Hyper-femininity and ultra-masculinity have been forever incarnated in fragrance form.”

“What goes for my clothes, goes for my perfumes,” Gaultier continues. “I strive always to be olfactively unique, seductive but very structured, provocative but very desirable, to use fragrance and glass to channel what lace and denim reinvent in each runway show. This award is an immense honor for me. It brings me great pleasure to know that my fragrances have made such a mark and that they have brought joy to many. I am very grateful to the FiFi jury for their kind recognition.”
