According to a recent Transparency Market Research report, the biotech market is expected to see solid growth in the F&F industry through 2027.

One of the main drivers for growth is the increased demand for natural and organic foods. As consumers become more aware of what’s in their food and beverages, many are looking for natural products and ingredients. Areas that will see particularly strong growth include Asia-Pacific regions, India and China, where North America will lead in-term of consumption of biotech flavors.

However, despite indications of growth, the market isn’t without its obstacles. One of the main obstacles is the high manufacturing cost of extracting flavors. In addition, governmental guidelines provide another obstacle for the biotech flavor and fragrance industry.
