Kalsec Develops HeatSync Systems to Manage Heat Pungency

Posted: September 27, 2012

Kalsec Inc. (Kalamazoo, MI) has developed HeatSync Systems to manage heat (pungency), in order to meet consumer demand for more complex hot and spicy food and beverages.

HeatSync Systems can be used to control the timing, intensity and palate location of heat delivered to meet specific application requirements.

“Each component of the HeatSync System adds a different element to how the heat is expressed, so we can deliver the optimum heat experience for every application,” says Karen Buczek, Kalsec's product director of flavors.

The company said HeatSync Systems are ideal for use in beverages, soups, sauces, salsas, dressings, prepared meals, beans, marinades, meat and poultry products, chocolate/confections, and snacks.

Kalsec has also developed other heat management systems including ClearCap Super Soluble capsicum as well as a line of specialty peppers and encapsulated extracts that include black pepper, capsicum, horseradish, mustard and wasabi.
