OSHA Issues Final Rule on PPE

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued a final rule on employer-paid personal protective equipment (PPE). The rule, which OSHA expects will reduce annual occupational injuries by 21,000, calls for PPE to be provided to employees for no cost, with some exceptions: safety toed footwear, ordinary prescription safety eyewear, logging boots, and ordinary clothing and weather-related gear. The rule's enforcement deadline falls six months following publication. For more details, visit the US Department of Labor's compliance page here. (Source: FEMA)
