Evolva and Cornelius Group team up in order to market resveratrol to certain European markets. Evolva’s resveratrol is produced through fermentation using yeast and will be distributed by Cornelius Group.

Resveratrol is found in red grapes, blueberries, nuts and other plants and tests have shown that the ingredient has a positive impact on healthy-aging variables like heart health, bone health and blood-glucose control. Evidence has been found in key biomarkers that resveratrol might slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and mimic the effects of a calorie-restricted device.

A Different Process

Joy Thomas, technical manager of Cornelius Group, said, “Most resveratrol on the market today comes from the Japanese knotweed plant. Evolva’s resveratrol is different and is manufactured via the fermentation of yeast, making it a pure product that is free of pesticides and other impurities that can be found in knotweed extracts.”

The fermented resveratrol has a purity count of over 98% and is suitable for a broad range of products like dietary supplements or complex applications for foods, animal nutrition and personal care products.

Evolva CEO Neil Goldsmith said, “Much of the resveratrol sold today is made from knotweed, which results in a lack of control over the standard of crop. The benefit of using the fermentation process is that it ensures the quality of the ingredient. Manufacturing resveratrol through the fermentation of yeast offers us, and our customers, peace of mind as it’s made from natural and sustainable feedstocks and has a stable, traceable and reliable supply chain.”
