Symrise (Holzminden, Germany) now supplies organic-quality vanilla extracts certified by ECOCERT, an independent certification organization that recognizes natural and organic products processed using traditional methods. Available in variety of concentrations, the bourbon vanilla extracts from Madagascar are appropriate for application in ice cream and desserts, baked goods, chocolates and beverages.
“We’ve been noticing increased demand for certified organic flavorings and ingredients,” noted Oliver Nembach, business development director for vanilla at Symrise. “Organic products occupy an especially attractive niche in the premium goods market—you simply can’t get around real bourbon vanilla if you want to make high-quality, premium products.”
Moving forward, Symrise is looking to add fair trade vanilla extracts to its portfolio, alongside its organic vanilla extracts.
