Burger King has announced that they will be introducing a Flamin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheetos version of its snack products, after demand from consumers.

A Fan Favorite

Similar to the original, the snack will be a combination of mac n’ cheese filling and a Cheeto breading. This version will instead include the spicy, crunchy flavor of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The product launched on November 30, 2017, and will be available for a limited time at participating Burger King Restaurants.

“Our fans had such a great reaction to Mac n’ Cheetos that we’re excited to bring a new version with Flamin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheetos,” said Rich Blazevich, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay North America. “We look forward to hearing the responses from fans.”

A Spicy Future

With product launches like this and others, fast food companies are trying to gain the attention of consumers that want to test their taste buds with spicier, bold flavors.

In summer 2017, McDonald’s released a sriracha sandwich and offered sriracha dipping sauce for its 20-piece Chicken McNuggets. More recently, KFC took a sweeter approach to spicy with its hot honey chicken, a Southern-inspired flavor that was tested in select locations. Similarly, White Castle released a hot chicken slider on June 2, 2017, inspired by the Nashville-style spicy flavor.

If these products are any indication, the future is looking bright and spicy.
