David Freedman, a contributing editor for The Atlantic and Inc. Magazine as well as a contributor to Scientific American and a consulting editor for Johns Hopkins Medicine International, is scheduled to speak at FEMA's Fall Symposium Dinner on Tuesday, October 22.
Freedman is the author of five books, including "WRONG," his most recent publication focusing on the problems with the published findings of scientists and other experts. Much of his current work is related to obesity, nutrition, and health-related behavior change, including his recent article in The Atlantic, "How Junk Food Can End Obesity."
Melissa Musiker will speak at the Hot Topics Breakfast on Wednesday, October 23. She is the director of Food & Nutrition Policy at APCO Worldwide’s office in Washington, DC. Her client work focuses on science communications involving issues in food, nutrition, health and wellness. She is a practicing dietitian and has extensive experience in the food sector, serving as a spokesperson on regulatory and legislative policy issues related to food.
John Hallagan will speak at the FEMA Regulatory Affairs Committee Meeting on Wednesday, October 23. Hallagan serves as general counsel to FEMA, and as legal advisor to the FEMA Expert Panel. He will present information regarding Proposition 65 and the overall impact on the flavor industry.
