Scents and Sensibility Come Together at IFRA UK Fragrance Forum

The Fragrance Forum has announced that its seventh annual forum will take place on October 12, 2017, and will focus on the theme Scents and Sensibility, named in honor of the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death.

Speakers from a wide range of backgrounds will explore topics and new research related to the science of scent and fragrance. In addition, the forum will look into consumer trends and what influences consumers to purchase a fragrance.

Among the speakers and topics at this year’s event include:

  • Christina Bradstreet from The National Gallery will be discussing art, smell and sanitation.
  • Kate McLean, artist and Canterbury Christchurch University senior lecturer, and Daniele Quercia M.D. of Bell Labs will be presenting research on mapping the ‘smell scape.’
  • Clare Jonas, M.D. of the University of East London will be discussing how senses blend together through synesthesia.
  • Claire Guest, M.D.'spresentation will explore the impact of medical detection dogs on health.
