On March 8, 2018, at the Wyndham Anaheim Resort, flavor chemists, manufacturers and professionals met at the 18th Annual West Coast Flavor Industry Forum, presented by The National Association of Flavors and Food-Ingredients Systems (NAFFS), The Society of Flavor Chemist and The Chemical Sources Association.

During the event, attendees were able to participate in interactive tastings, sensory sessions and demonstrations from top flavor suppliers. Among the suppliers that were at the event included Advanced Biotech, Almendra Americas LLC, Berjé, Bontoux, Ecom Food Industries Corp., Excellentia International, Flavor & Fragrance Specialties, Frutarom, Global Essence, Horner International, Kalsec, MCI-Miritz, Natural Advantage, Omega Ingredients Ltd., Pearlchem, Robertet and Vigon International.

Though each company brought a range of flavor products, many companies showcased its organic or natural lines and CO2 extracts. Among some of the companies and products featured at the event include:

  • Excellentia International featured a range of its Axxence Aromatic products and essential oils, including origanum oil organic, rosemary oil Spanish organic, anise seed oil Spanish P&N, chamomile oil roman natural, magnolia flower oil P&N, orris root tincture, osmanthus absolute, 3-methyl-2,4-nonanedione natural, dimethyl sulfoxide natural and prenyl mercaptan natural.
  • Robertet featured a range of its CO2 pepper extracts, including Bengal pepper CO2 extract, black pepper CO2 extract, Cubeba pepper CO2 extract, Nepal berries CO2 extract, Sichuan pepper CO2 extract and Tasmanian pepper CO2 extract.
  • Vigon International presented a range of its own manufactured ingredients manufactured and ingredients they supply. The company featured its lime oil Mexican distilled 5x, cocoa extract rich chocolate (Ivory Coast blend) and cocoa extract milk chocolate (Ivory Coast Blend). Additionally, they presented Evonik’s peanut CO2 extract WONF (water soluble) and sunflower CO2 extract (peanut replacer) and Givaudan’s Peru balsam oil extra.
  • Natural Advantage featured several of its sweet naturals and savory naturals. Among the natural products it showcased include linalool oxide, 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-ol, methyl 3-methylthiopropionate, 3-methylthio-1-hexanol, 2,4 dithiapentane, 1-oceten-3-ol, 2-methyl-3-furanthiol, 2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol and 2-ethyl-5-methyl-4-hydroxy-3[2H]-furanone (HomoPak).
