RIFM Fragrance Ingredients Symposium

The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials will be holding a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) Symposium at the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting. The symposium, entitled "Developments in Exposure-based QRA for Induction of Dermal Sensitization for Fragrance Ingredients, will take place from 1:30–4:15 pm (EST) on March 28 at the Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte, NC. The chair of the symposium is David Basketter (Unilever SEAC, UK) and the co-chair is I. Glenn Sipes (Univ. of Arizona, Tucson; chair RIFM Expert Panel). The session schedule is as follows:

1:45–2:15 pm: Peter Cadby (Firmenich), "An Introduction to QRA for Induction of Dermal Sensitization for Fragrance Ingredients"

2:45–3:15 pm: Ian Kimber (Syngenta Central Toxicology Laboratory), "The Importance of Using Dose/Unit Area as the Dose Metric in QRA for Induction of Skin Sensitization"

3:15–3:45 pm: Pauline McNamee (Proctor & Gamble), "The Principles of QRA for Induction of Dermal Sensitization for Fragrance Ingredients"

3:45–4:15 pm: Anne Marie Api (RIFM), "Application of QRA for Induction of Dermal Sensitization of Fragrance Ingredients"
