The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) will hold its annual meeting with special guest speakers on February 5 (venue and registration details TBA). The first half of the day is open to RIFM members only, kicking off with registration, continental breakfast and poster discussions on RIFM programs, fragrance allergy, structural groups, environmental and respiratory programs, the RIFM Database and REACH. The organization’s annual business meeting will take place from 9:45–11:15 AM; a short RIFM board organizational meeting will be held from 3:00–5:30 PM.
The rest of the programs are open to all with a nonmember fee of $100 and a special member fee of $50. A buffet lunch will be served from 11:30–1:00 PM, followed by a presentation by Gunter Oberdoerster (Unversity of Rochester) on “Nanotechnology, Fragrance Applications and Related Effects.” Harvey Gedeon (The Estée Lauder Co. Inc.) will succeed Oberdoerster at 2:00 PM with a discussion on “Emerging Issues Impact on the Fragranced Product Supply Chain.” The day will close with a networking and discussion hour from 3:00–4:00 PM.
